MVP Virtual Gentle Yoga Moves

On hiatus until January 12, 2026; registration begins
December 9, 2025.

Mondays

Join us online, using Zoom, for this one-hour, gentle yoga class. Class begins seated with breath-control techniques, then moves to seated or standing strength-building and balance-improving postures. It ends with a short guided meditation. The use of principles of exercise physiology, CARs mobility exercises, and safe isometrics help develop mobility and strength; focus on the postures, the gaze, and the breath helps improves concentration.

Gentle Yoga for Seniors

Mondays

This one-hour class is suitable for most fitness levels. Class begins with breath control seated in a chair, then moves to standing strength-building and balance-improving postures. Ends with a guided meditation. Incorporates principles of exercise physiology, CARs mobility exercises, and safe isometrics help develop mobility and strength; focus on the breath improves concentration. Chair options offered for all postures.

Level I Yoga for Seniors

Thursdays

More like a traditional yoga class, this one-hour practice requires the ability to get up and down off the mat. Using Sanskrit and English, the class begins with breath control then warms up with postures from a table-top position, then to standing, strength-building, and balance-improving postures. Returning to the mat for core postures, the class ends with guided meditation.

Reiki Therapy

Private sessions at your home or Leslie’s home studio are also offered. As a Reiki master, Leslie can teach you or your group all levels of this system of natural healing. Please contact Leslie for more information.

Leslie is currently an active volunteer with HCHR (Health Care is a Human Right), participating in free, monthly clinics around Ulster County, NY. Visit hchrny.org for the time and place of the next clinic near you. She also manages the quarterly clinics in Woodstock and Phoenicia and handles the marketing for the organization.

Reiki is a Japanese method of holistic, hands-on healing, founded by Usui Mikao in the early 20th Century. Reiki means universal energy. Its use

  • relieves pain, anxiety, and fatigue

  • treats depression and boosts mood

  • enhances quality of life

  • treats symptoms of headaches, tension, insomnia, and nausea

My feet always ached at the end of the day, especially if I had been doing a lot of walking or standing. After a few months of taking a yoga class with Leslie, I noticed that my feet had stopped aching. Specific feet exercises and natural strengthening from balance poses transformed my feet.
